RYAN JAMES (SOCCER)

                                        

Ryan James is a left back and center back defender for the San Diego Surf (Del Mar) (Elite Clubs National League - ECNL-RL) and Del Norte High School (CIF San Diego Section Champions and Southern California Open Division 1 Regional Championship Runners Up, ranked #3 in California and 18th nationally for the 2025-2026 season) in San Diego, California. He is 5 ft. 11 in. tall, 174 pounds, and left foot dominant but can use either foot. He graduates in 2027 and is evaluating college soccer opportunities. He has met all NCAA College requirements to play soccer in college. His 2026 summer schedule is full with multiple ID Camps in California and Nebraska and the Surf Cup in San Diego, where over 100 college coaches will be recruiting. He was named Player of the Match on January 30, 2026, named Captain of a former club team, and his teams have won multiple tournaments and showcases.

 

Academically, Ryan has a 3.4 G.P.A. and was awarded the Student Recognition Certificate of Merit in Recognition of Demonstrating Exemplary Character. He was also named Student-Athlete of the Month. He also is a leader in the Unified P.E. Program that works with special education students, which has generated his interest in majoring in Education or School Counseling. Ryan is actively involved in his church Youth Ministry Program as a Peer Minister and leads small discussion groups, icebreaker games, and more. He also volunteers setting up for and cleaning up after meetings and in the Christmas Gift Program for families in need.
